The Director

July 26, 1928 – March 7, 1999

Stanley Kubrick is widely known as one of the most successful filmmakers of all time. His films, which are mostly adaptations of novels or short stories, cover a wide range of genres, and are noted for their realism, dark humor, unique cinematography, extensive set designs, and evocative use of music. How some filmmakers often spend their entire career attempting to perfect one genre, Kubrick would make a genre film and it would be considered the best of its kind be it horror, science fiction, war, etc.
